This is general & prevailing principle that no notice is to be given during probationary period by either party, therefore, your friend, may like to quit anytime. As far as three months probation is concerned, this is contrary to general rules meant for employment either permanet or temporary or probationary. I guess this is some typographical error which the company has yet not noticed. And I suggest there should be:-
"Once you are confirmed, you will be supposed to leave this organization with three months prior notice or depositing salary in lieu thereof. In-case company your services are no more required by the company, your services will be terminated with three months prior notice or payment of salary in lieu thereof"
So friends, dont panic and go head to join new job.

Chandra HR, It’s not a matter of completing the probation but its for a day or two to resign .so do not hack up him to complete 6 months of service with the orgn where he has no satisfaction .

Dear no matter of resigning during ur prob.As all my friends said, inform the authorities atleast a day before u leave the company and proceed further........

he cannot resign on one day notice period since its not mentioned about that in appointment letter, it means 3months notice period clause will start from day one of employment

I believe that any comment or suggession that is given by any HR professional should be with professional ethics. The one who does not have faith in the proffession only speak/comment anything. But,we have to guide with professional perspective, whatever the subject it may be.I am ashamed to see when some of our friends comment uneithically.
Every employer has a reason for relieving the employee. After we take-up the employment, we enjoy the terms of appointment regarding salary, benefits, leave etc. Same way the term of appointment regarding the notice pay/ notice period also to be adhered.
If the notice period is mentioned separately for probationary period, it will be applicable. Otherwise notice period is the same during probationary period or after probationary period.
If a person has a genuine reason for leaving the company before the agreed notice period, he may speak to the employer and at his discretion, earlier releving may be possible.

Dear,
As per my knowledge, an employee who is in the probation period can leave the organisation on One day notice, But it has to be insured that he has not signed any agreement of notice period for probation.
Notice period is applicable only after the confirmation.

hi all,I too am facing a similar problem
i'm currently working in a company as HR consultant it has been 3 months now and my total exp is 1 year. I was horizontally shifted across teams and in job profiles in these 3 months due to my multitasking nature. when i had joined this company i was not given much of the hike due to my trifle experience. though i got some very good exposure and experience like handling team and cross functional work info but i'm also facing lots of problems as they shift me to any team without any training though i'm able to complete it but i'm havin lots of stress as the work load is folds more as compared to a colleague who is earning almost double than that of my salary.Since i've been moved so many times i'm unable to consolidate the achieved targets which depend upon monthly and quaterly basis. though they never say on targets but i feel for being unable to pen down my achievements.
the probation notice is 1 month....but will shifting again will add problems to my career graph.
also as it'z recession time i don't what step should i take.

During probation you have to give a 1 month notice period or give your salary in lieu of that.

:) Well advice is.... Before going ahead for resignation and all talk to HR Team:confused: with what makes you loose your job satisfaction? and give them chance to create beter work environment for you...:(
If still you are not ok , serve proper 30 days notice...... that would be gr8.... as your are in probation 30 days is enough.... one can not abide talent so its ok if we have to let go some time!!!:icon1:

My dear ,
As per your appointment letter u r bound to serve notice period , it does'nt matter that one is in probation or permanent.
But generaly managemnt waive of notice period for probatinor.
