Hello,

Since it is a start up firm you may be finding it difficult.

However I suggest you can prepare following things:

1. Organization Chart - in whatever shape it is at present - names of officers at various levels [ at least key people]

2. Various functions and activates of the organization

3. Various locations - if you operate from various geographical locations

4. Details relating to business - Objectives - Business Plans for the year, Previous year performance if any and this years targets

5. List of customers accounts

6. Copies of HR policies - if some are formulated and documented

7. List of Holidays, Weekly offs, Working hours, Lunch Hours

8. Performance Appraisal Process

9. Salary related issues - how salary is paid if through bank which bank new joining person should open account and other processes that are essential for a new joining employee can be included here.

10 An introduction to functional heads and key people

11. Clarity on what role responsibilities are expected from new joining employee.

I hope this will help you design an Induction Kit and an Induction Program

Thanks a lot Mr. Nishikant.
This is really useful.
But could you please tell me whether i should include all this information in employee handbook, or i should give a presentaion about all this?
What is to be included in presentation, and what is to be included in employee handbook?

Hello,
Finalizing contents of a handbook will need time and discussion with seniors. If there are things which are not yet firm and are likely to change in the near future ( next few months) including such items in a printed handbook will not be a good idea. Otherwise you will need to circulate revisions as and when they occur.
A presentation and set of printed handouts for ready reference can be considered initially. By next year beginning you will be able to decide the content of the handbook at that time you can think of printing.
