You may like to work on the project 'Competencies & Special Skills' required for 'Executive level' job positions in banking industry. This needs to keep in mind the competition being offered by private sector banks & the hi-tech environment for growth of industry.
It is likely that the public sector banks are inclined to review their job descriptions & upgrade these with focus on training & development of employees. You can, through your project, contribute to their initiative.

Even I have just completed my internship project in HR, and hence have searched a lot about the topics to be picked up.
The common topics in HR students take are - attrition rate(which is anyways low in public sector), employee satisfaction, training and development, recruitment etc.
You can also go a step ahead any pick up a topics less untapped like employee engagement, talent management, employee cycle, learning and development.
In Public sector banks career planning for employees is less taken care of so you even thing about doing something in this domain.
Thanks & Regards
Swati

Dear Shubam,
If you are interested in a real topic just consider the best topic: The causes for Low Productivity & Poor Customer Service in Public Sector Banks. You may feel these are two different topics but in reality when you go for the details, you will find the real reason behind both of these problems is the poor HR policies. Rest you go through it and the results will be before you.
I wish you all the best.
