Hi friends!!!

One my friend got dissatisfied with the organisation for which she is giving her service, so she wants to resign, and also she wants the senior management of XXX org to know what makes her dissatisfied, that's why she wrote a letter to Sr Management as below.

I have informed you that I am going to re-join XXX Organisation from 1st June of 2012 but I am feeling sorry to say that I am resigning from my position with XXX Org due to some issues, which hurts me a lot. I want to share some issues, which I have observed just with a view to intimate a normal employee tone to senior management that might be useful to decrease the employee attrition rate

The issues are as follows:

Pay: I am the least paid employee in XXX Org. I agree that due to my performance in interview my pay was fixed less. If that is the case, doesn’t the people know that the work must be given according to my pay only? You are paying 25K to consultants who even doing the tasks which I am performing too. So what makes this differentiation? In several cases when some body is allotting work to me, I use to suggest the name who have minimum work to do, then they refused to take those people into work as their CTC is more. So why to hire people by giving more per day rate? My take home is around 6,500/- , did any one ever think how I am living in this Hyderabad city with that amount and what I am giving to my parents.

Timings: Office timings are from 10.00 a.m to 6.00 p.m. I have a doubt why people use to come at 5.30 p.m with work and ask us to complete it and go home, that made me to sit in the office up to 8.00 p.m several days. Initially during first 3 months I and Ms.X used to work up to 3.00 a.m at home, this is also known to Ms.Y as we use to stay along with her, even though we never be recognized by any one. My observation with XXX Org is, people give value to the one who speaks more and showcase the work but not to one who speak less and perform more.

March Salary: When I am ill I spoke to Mr. YYY and Ms. ZZZ to release my salary of March which might be very helpful to me as my family position is very critical at that time as I am the only source to manage the house, instead of that I became burden to them. I have not asked any loan or any advance to be released but I just asked for the day I have given my services to XXX Org. Is there any thing wrong in it? If you want to follow the policies and formalities, then every thing should be done according to the policies and formalities, but coming to my offer letter and STC, after continuous follow up with HRIM domain also I have not received any offer letter or STC, but still I have given my service to XXX Org for 4 months. If policies and formalities are not applicable for offer letter and STC then how come it is applicable to my salary?

Tax: If any particular employee is getting paid less than 30K in a year there is no tax deduction for him/her. On this issue I discussed with Ms. ZZZ for few times, she agreed with it but still she use to deduct tax from my salary. Is deducting unnecessarily from my salary is fair? Will policies saying to do so?

All the above issues are not considered by experiencing once or twice but all happen many times by which I lost my interest to work with XXX Org. I came here to do some thing and to prove myself before the people who rejected me in the interview. I hope I have proved it but still forcefully I am quitting the job with lot of dissatisfaction because XXX Org culture does not suits to both my financial and mental conditions. I hope my experience will help senior people to take care of my other friends in XXX Org. Hence here by I am submitting my resignation. Please consider it.

Can she write like that.....................?

Does it seems to be professional?

Hi Anusha,
Before I respond to the above mentioned questions, I would like to know the following points:
1. What is the total tenure spent by the individual (i.e. Ms. Rani)?
2. What kind of process in which she was working i.e. Domestic or International?
3. Were the issues discussed with the Manger and above previously? If yes, what was discussed and its outcome.

Hi Pravin
1. Ms.Rani has spent 4 months with that organisation.
2. Domestic
3. Yes, but there is no response
Her Project Manager it self comes with lot of work, when she is about to leave.
About the tax deductions , she directly spoke to Finance manager
About offer letter and STC, she discussed with HR Manager
But there is no response from their side.
As per the discussions at the time of joining, After 3 months of joining, there must be a hike in her salary, but no one has a discussion about it even after 4 months.

Dear Anusha,

I think she does not know how to get right exposure into organization. It is not about working hard, its about working SMART.

Tips:

1. She has to get rid of her behavior of complaining

2. She is also not very much sure about her capabilities, She has to think about the compensation is enough or is really a match to her capabilities before she signs any contract with the companies.

2. She should not compare herself with others; he is working more, she is working less, I am killing me by working more, this kind of feelings will not create anything but frustration. Better, she stops thinking about others and starts thinking about her progress, how to finish works is a different matter and how to get benefits by finishing tasks or given works is really very different and interesting.

3. She should carry out a self appraisal, if she really worth more, she can find job anywhere with more compensation.

4. Even in her next job, I would like to advise her not to work hard but to work SMART.

Best of luck to her..

Dear Anusha,

Thanks for your prompt reply on this. Below are my observations on her concerns mentioned:

@Pay: It's decided on the capabilities and skill of the individual. In domestic process, the package is always below 10K for a fresher and we should not be expecting more than that. As far as anyone person needs is concerned, it's always look less and it doesn't matter where you live and for what reasons you are working. And don't compare your salary with anyone because of these reasons and who is getting what and how much.

@Timings: I must say that she is very hard working and it's good but these days we have to act smart and perform SMART work as well. Being a fresher / new joinee, it is always recommened to give time to the process and learn as quickly as you can. It's not about speaking or showcasing but how you presenting it, does matter alot.

@Salary Issue: Individual must be probationary period and hence, it happens to her. It was always advisable not to take unnecessary leaves within first 6 months of service.

@Tax: Regarding this you write to concerned dept and I hope you will get the refund. But, first read the company policy again for better understanding.

Last but not least, the letter drafted above is not professional and if you have understood my points above, you must have got an idea "WHY SO". Just have patience and confidence within yourself (or her).

My best wishes and good luck to both of you!!

Bhai all people say work smart work smart but what the hell when you are not in other persons shoes and not experienced the other persons difficulty or issue how can you just advise to work smart, there are still people who perform very well but because they are exploited they become sad and write such kind of letters anyways writing such letters will help your friend to ease her pain, rather than keeping it compressed in her mind / heart and ultimately die one day of brain hemmorage or heart attack.
Whatever you have to say say with full confidence and slap that person so in your mind you have feeling of calmness
