In any organisation, there will be constant inflow and outflow of employees. Therefore, technical or softskill programmes should happen as a matter of routine or, in other words, training programmes should be institutionalised. Normally softskill or behavioural skill programmes are conducted depending upon the need. Such programmes should be held as a matter of routine but should be need based. For achieving this, there should be training need analysis and also if the institution has a proper performance management system, it can also throw up needs. So one has to go by these factors for determining training programmes. Basically, in a manufacturing unit, Team Handling, Team Spirit, Leadership Skills, Time Management, Problem Solving, Decision making, Work Life Balance, Stress Management programmes are desirable ones.

Hello HR576,
When you ask some query to others, business etiquettes demand disclosure of your name, what you produce, your designation, your role in organisation etc.
Now coming to your query. Three ratios are most important in manufacturing viz. inventory Turnover Ratio, Overall Equipment Effectiveness Ratio and Line Stoppage Ratio. Measure these ratios. Find out what needs to be done to increase these ratios and you will get replies to your question.
Thanks,

Dear HR576
Alongwith the above work related training programmes you can add up some soft skill development training programmes and life style changing training programmes to the top level and medium level managerial staff will surely increase productivity of your organisation.

First of all any training is organised based on need. If there is a need for training in a certain area then you design a training programme. It also depends on the level of participants. It cannot be one- size- fits- all type. Therefore first analyse the training needs. Secondly decide on the training objectives. Thirdly decide about the training outcome you desire in terms of Knowledge, Skill and Attitude. Based on such analysis only the contents of training can be arrived at.
