Dear all,
I was working with an organization in Delhi for the past 9 years. I was handling multiple tasks there, with the major responsibilities revolving around HR and ADMIN. These tasks included managing attendance, leave, and salary processing for approximately 150+ employees, handling all office-related bills, CUG management, and more. Now, I have resigned from that position and am looking for a new job. However, my concern is that I lack knowledge in filing the returns for ESIC, PF, and LWF, as well as handling legal issues related to this, as these tasks were outsourced in my previous role. I would like to know if my skills and experience are sufficient to secure a good job and in which areas I should focus on improving my skills to enhance my job prospects.

Hello,
Although you are in HR and Admin, most of the work you have been handling is manual. If you have used any software tools for generating payroll or maintaining records in MS Office, that would be beneficial. Even though Statutory Compliance tasks such as PF and ESI are outsourced to agents, understanding and coordinating the process will add value to your role. By learning activities like employee relations, compensation management, and HR administration skills, you can sharpen your skills.

Nowadays, many companies outsource the compliance part, but some still handle it internally through HRMS software. These systems are capable of generating PF/ESI/LWF and all statutory reports. Please look for an opportunity where you can gain experience working on an HRMS system.
