Dear Senior members,
I am working as an Executive ER in a dubai based firm which is almost like a manufacturing organisation..i have earliar worked as an ER in a BPO firm in India wherein I initiated n no of Fun at work and other employee engagament activities but since i have joined this organisation in Dubai, I could not plan or think of any employee engagament activity here.
It would be a great help to me if any body of the members or respective seniors can come up with some good ideas of engaging empployees in a manufacturing organisation.

Hi Neha,

The few things that I could think of ...

1. Have frequent open house discussion on safety at work, if any suggestions are given try and work out the feasibility of incorporating them at your work place & ya always follow up with your feedback this will encourage them to give more feedback - This help in reinforcing time and again that organization cares about them.

2. Have a parenting workshop for them and career counseling for employee's children

3. Have yoga and pranayama secessions very week, motivate them to come for this secessions by spreading awareness & importance of good health

4. Have a cap day or something ....when they can wear different types of caps (as they must be having uniform .... so may be one can't have traditional etc.)

5. Try and organize music sessions, dance sessions or other kind of entertainment after working hour

What I think all employees whether they belong to Manufacturing company or Service industry are looking out for health, comfortable & caring workplace if we HR professional keep this in mind ..... we can really make a difference.

Its gr8 to listen that u r working in abroad. Every organisation has there different ways to keep employees engage in the activities like motivational training programmes or celebrating festivals or celebrating birthdays. During these events we can conduct many management games, wherein everyone will have active participation. Every department should announce the best achiever or best employee of the period. We may celebrate the color days whrein the work will also not get suffered. We may have brain teasers weekly quize, available to every employee.
