Dear friend,

It appears that you are a job candidate and you are obtaining confirmation on how to give a reply to a question if in the managerial round of the interview if asked to work in a certain technology.

Whether in any job interview or otherwise, rather than giving a negative reply, better to give a positive reply and say "My preference is for ____, ____, ____ technologies and my last preference is _____".

Now coming to likes and dislikes. What matters is a career growth. Therefore, a career-conscious person has a single-minded pursuit of growth. That person keeps the likes and dislikes aside and avails of the opportunity that comes in his/her path.

Yes, a risk of rejection for declining to learn a new technology cannot be ruled out per see. It will be very difficult to predict how the manager will react if he listens to a negative reply from the job candidate. Therefore, whether to take a risk or not is your call!

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
