I am supposed to train few team members who are frustrated with current work environment, they are receiving no support from the Company but the show must go on. Most of these team members are 35+ in age having few preconcieved notions about training. What kind of softskills would help me pep them and bring in postive approach towards their job also suggest an icebreaker or group activity where I can make them enjoy my session as well as they acquire a moral out of the same. Plz help

Hi nayakarchu,
Well, I feel one does not hate their work! Its the ppl who make them frustrated and hate the job and the environment.
Hence you can start with some great games for some time.
Make them feel light. You can plan an outing and few play few games.
Game 1 - [Helps in TRUSTING PPL AROUND U]
Make a closed circle and ask randomly to come in the middle of the circle and he has to fall on the ppl who are in circle.
PPl in he circle have to catch him.
This game is good, Have tried in my own org.
Game2.WORK in Team
Solving the puzzle: Jigsaw Puzzle.
Make Teams and give 1 min time.
Few activities: singing, dancing... also in pair.
What i meant is they have to be handled or guided through games. Giving them presentation specially ppl who are 35+?
They will hardly hear you.
I hope this helps you.
Do give me ur feedback.TC

Hi,
It seems that the employees are lacking in motivation which is being ignored by the senoir management ...in your training you need to give scenarios which will help in building motivation. As suggested games are one of the best way to give out the message. You can use games on leadership and empowerment. you should also train them on maganging stress and converting negative stress into positive. Thsi will help them to enjoy the job and enhance productivity.
Hope my suggestions will be of some help to you.
Take care

Hi nayakarchu,
I understand it will be quite difficult for you to decide what to serve to such a group that has lost the taste in anything served by the host.(frustation makes ppl so.), but its not imposible though. Anyways I agree with some of the people above that you should try to remove all negativity and fill in the positive thoughts and replace frustation with hope by any of the illustrations you provide in your training. It would have been good if u had mentioned the department or the work area of your team members. clearer suggestions would have come. All the best.

Hello!
First, no standard training program can solve the problem. The trainer will have to think out-of-box. secondly your brief although is pin pointing you need to to have a detailed interaction with the trainer to familiarize him/her with the situation completely.
