Hello Members,
I have recently started using this platform and am amazed to see the knowledge shared here. I have been involved in employee engagement and team-building activities for a few years now, which include team-building games, outings, group discussions, mixing and mingling with other teams, and traditional classroom training. I am looking for some new ideas on how I can improve these activities. I would be grateful if anyone could share some ideas on employee engagement and team-building activities.
Thanks, Mansi

Dear Mansi,
You have written, "I have been doing employee engagement and team-building activities for a few years now."
If you have been conducting the team-building activities for a few years, then the members of this forum deserve to be enlightened on how you measure the effectiveness of those activities. What was the productivity of the team members before a few years and what is the productivity now? Because of the teamwork, was there a reduction in operational costs or turnaround time of some processes? Would you mind sharing these details?
Even if you get suggestions from other members, will those team-building games or engagement activities be different? Access to Google is the same for everybody.
Lastly, about employee engagement. There are several types of employee engagement: intellectual, mental, physical, emotional, etc. One of the most difficult to build is intellectual engagement. Can workplace games build intellectual engagement? Have you thought about this?
You may find that my views are radically different, but then this topic comes up for discussion every 5-6 months. Each time, a member shoots a query while firmly rooted in their regime of notions, and so is this one more query!
Thanks,

Hello Dinesh,
I appreciate the views you have. I started these activities 4 years ago. We have been playing games, making the environment light with some random topic discussions, sipping tea together, playing communication-related games, going out on a picnic, and celebrating festivals together.
I have witnessed a huge difference in productivity and employees' willingness towards work. We have reduced employee turnover by this. We have a 90% retention ratio after we started doing this. Proactiveness has improved, and we have witnessed a zero-politics environment. We initiated the movement called "I am my own hero" where individuals set skill development targets for themselves, and we assist them in achieving those goals with motivation, training (on the job or paid), etc.
It's human nature to seek something different each time. While Google can provide numerous ideas, I was searching for something already implemented and tested.
Thank you,
Mansi
