Hi Smita
Question is not whether it is recognised or deemed it only matter of contents, so far my knowledge goes, Symbiosis course content is good and since you are in job its up to you to choose which one is better.
I request Mr Sahu to post the comparison and let Smita decide which is better for her.

Dear All,
What is the major difference between PGDBA and MBA? Is it only a diploma or degree, or can PGDBA be equivalent to an MBA? Please clarify.
I am considering Symbiosis (MBA) but I am confused whether to opt for PGDBA or look for a university that offers a degree. This decision is urgent.

An MBA is a Master's Degree. It is recognized by the UGC of India. Thus, for any job/course/further tasks where the eligibility is post-graduation, a master's degree is only considered. Only the person who has an MBA can call himself a post-graduate. You can go for a Ph.D. based on an MBA. These courses are approved by government bodies.
However, a PGDM is merely a course after graduation. It does not lead to a master's degree; it just adds a further qualification. In the corporate world, a PGDM is treated at par with an MBA if the PGDM is obtained from a standard university. Please do not get fooled by people who say that even IIMs offer PGDM and all that. Though IIMs offer PGDM, they are all great institutes with a huge reputation and great records. You cannot compare them with other institutes.
A master's degree is more valuable than a PGD. That's the reason why an MBA by correspondence asks you for three years of work experience too. Though, in the corporate world, both are treated at par.

Hi all,
I need your expert guidance. I am a software engineer with 3 years of experience. I am looking to do Symbiosis PGDIT (PGD in Information Technology) distance learning course. However, I am not sure how much value a distance learning course will provide me in my career. Is it worth the effort or not? Please reply quickly.

I think you should try Nagarjuna University because the university is the outgrowth initiative of the post-graduate center of Andhra University, which was established in 1967 in the Nallapadu area of Guntur, subsequently relocated to the Nambur/Kaza area in the east of the city. The center gained affiliating-university status in 1976 and would open with ten post-graduate courses. The university is named after Acharya Nagarjuna, the founder of the Madhyamaka path of Mahayana Buddhism.
