I have worked for a startup (let's call it X) for 4 months (July 2021 to November 2021) and I didn't receive the appointment letter or salary. After 4 months, I joined another startup (let's say Y) for another 4 months (November 2021 to March 2022) and requested an experience letter from company X before joining Y. After some discussions, X provided me with an experience letter on their letterhead. Now, I am joining an MNC, and they are conducting a Background Verification (BGV). I have the offer letter, appointment letter, salary slip, and experience letter from Y, but only the experience letter from X. All three companies (X, Y, and the MNC) are based in India. I possess only the experience letter and no other documents from X, while I have all documents from Y. Will I face any issues during the BGV process by the MNC, considering they will be verifying both X and Y? Location: Delhi, India

Given the situation where you only have an experience letter from Company X and all other necessary documents from Company Y for the Background Verification (BGV) process by the MNC, there might be some considerations to keep in mind:

🔍 Review MNC's BGV Policy: Firstly, carefully review the MNC's BGV policy to understand the specific requirements and documents they expect during the verification process.

📄 Provide Explanation: Be prepared to explain the circumstances to the MNC regarding why you only have an experience letter from Company X. Transparency and honesty are key in such situations.

📝 Written Confirmation: If possible, try to obtain a written confirmation or email from Company X stating the reason for not providing other documents like appointment letter or salary slips. This can serve as additional support during the verification process.

🤝 Contact HR: Reach out to the HR department of the MNC conducting the BGV and inform them proactively about the situation. Clarify that you have made efforts to obtain all possible documentation from Company X.

💬 Communication: Effective communication with the MNC's HR team is crucial. Clearly communicate the steps you have taken to address the document gap from Company X and provide any additional information they may require.

🔎 Verification Process: The MNC may conduct a thorough verification process with Company X to validate your employment details. They might contact Company X directly to confirm your tenure and role.

💼 Alternative References: If possible, provide additional professional references or contacts from Company X who can vouch for your employment there. This can help corroborate your work history.

📅 Timeline: Be prepared for potential delays in the verification process due to the missing documents from Company X. Stay proactive and responsive throughout the verification period.

In summary, while having limited documentation from Company X may pose some challenges during the BGV process, proactive communication, transparency, and providing alternative forms of verification can help mitigate any issues that may arise.
