Hello Rohini,

Both mean the same, more or less, as labor management involves industrial relations issues. Anyhow, see the difference, if any, in the content of the syllabus.

Dear Vidyaa,

Greetings!

As you said, you have 6 years of experience in the HR field, it would be better for you to pursue a master's program offered by premier institutes. If you can successfully complete these programs, they will boost your opportunities. These short-term and long-term programs are offered by top institutes such as IITs, IIMs, and other premier B-schools like XLRI-Jamshedpur and TISS. To gain admission to an executive program, you need to have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the HR field.

Since you are from Hyderabad, you can consider approaching one of the premier institutes in Hyderabad, IPE (Institute of Public Enterprise).

Go for MSW (Master of Social Welfare) which has a lot of demand and practical application, especially in manufacturing units. If you are looking for theoretical development in Human Resources, then a diploma or any HR courses would suffice. When you already have 6 long years of experience, reading them in books makes no sense as most of it is entirely different from what you have read and what you have experienced. Just like how fieldwork experience gains compared to sessions of PowerPoint presentations. Agreed, everything we read is useful, but we should also consider whether we ever get an opportunity to realize where we exactly are and what we want, to apply what we know, and execute to the most. In the present day, we all know how relevant jobs are with educational qualifications!
