Central Armed para military force. Like CRPF, BSF, ITBP, etc, Three year’s contract on renewal basis. Working for last 7 years in Composite Base Hospital.

Sec. 2(1) of the Maternity Benefit Act makes it applicable to government establishments as well. It shall also be applicable, in my view, to CAPF, as it is an establishment, and the Act does not contain any provision excluding paramilitary establishments or armed forces. However, the Act is applicable to a woman employee. Therefore, the nature of the terms of the contract of service you have with CAPF will determine whether you will be an employee or an independent consultant. In the latter case, it will not be applicable to you.
