Key Performance Indicators are quantifiable measurements, agreed to beforehand, that reflect the critical success factors of an organization. They will differ depending on the organization.
KPI's reflect the organizational goals, in simple a organization has a goal of increasing the sales to certain quantity then the Key Performance Indicators will be the number of sales closed in a month, number of products sold, % of increase in sales from last year.
So, while working with KPI's you should have a full knowledge about the goals and objectives of that organization. Try to know the goals and work on them by defining Key Performance Indicators for accomplishment of each goal and objective of that organization.
In construction company generally the goals would be maximizing the number of projects or maximizing the profit, cost reduction or quality commitment and delivery of the product etc.
Just take one goal and give a breakdown of all the key performance indicators required to accomplish the set of goals and objectives of that organization.
