Hello everyone,
I graduated in 2021 and joined the first company in June 2021, and left after seven months of experience as I wanted to change the career domain. I didn't serve the notice period because of some issues in my life. Now, to be honest, everything is sorted, and my company was kind enough to provide me a relieving letter and experience certificate because I was in good books.
Now the matter is that I do have the relieving letter and experience certificate of my previous company but haven't served the notice period and been unemployed for two months. But at the time of background verification in my new organization, will it become a problem? I mean, will my new employer check with my previous employer regarding the notice period? What are the reasons I can give for leaving early, and what to say if my new employer asks me about the notice period? I need help. I am really afraid. Please help me.
Additional information: My first company belongs to the Telecommunication industry, and I am shifting to the IT industry. I will be joining XYZ organization in the first week of April.

When you have a relieving letter and experience certificate with you, I don't see any reason to worry. The purpose of background verification is to understand an employee's integrity, work ethics, behavior, and overall contribution to the organization. Even if the new company conducts a verification regarding the notice period completion, you can have your answer prepared. They won't delve too deeply as it appears to be a personal issue.
However, to prevent encountering this issue again, ensure that you complete the exit formalities properly wherever you may work in the future.
