Hi all,
Recently, I came across a query from an employee during a one-on-one interaction. She asked if the company can have a policy of providing sanitary pads in the office for emergency use. This would be beneficial for women employees as sometimes the need for them can be unpredictable.
I am interested to learn how other companies have implemented this practice as a policy and what best practices they follow in such situations. I kindly request senior members to assist in creating a company-wide policy for our organization.

Hi,
Based on the number of women employees you may provide/make available on request, you may propose to your management under employee welfare. It involves a cost, so it is better to recommend with some cost projection.
Allocate the responsibility to some female employees in HR or the technical team. If implemented, it will be appreciated by female employees and will be seen as a unique welfare initiative.

Hi,
Now, under the Factories Act compliance, it is also required to be facilitated by the employer. Additionally, local administrative authorities have begun to include this requirement under the Waste Management Rules, which encompass both procurement and disposal. You may refer to the compliance requirements of the local municipal or development authorities and accordingly devise a policy within your organization. Try to involve women employees in this initiative. This welfare initiative is going to make a great impact on your female employees, and I am sure everyone will appreciate it. We have not taken any initiative yet since I have only one female employee.
With regards,
