Dear Team, I need a policy where we can take some sort of amount from staff that can be utilized for their welfare. Kind of Staff welfare fund.
We are planning to deduct the amount of Rs. 25 to100 every month which can be used for either medical purposes OR picnic parties.

Please help to share such policy or format.

Thanks
Sachin

Hi,

Staff welfare means it has to be sponsored by the Company on complimentary basis. say free Mediclaim, lunch outing, picnic etc.

If you are planning to deduct from employee salary then you need to get their consent first.

In case of resignation in the middle whether the employee will get the refund ?

Who is going manage the funds.

You need to answer so many questions like above.

The employees can voluntarily form a co-operative credit society, but the organization will have no role in it except deducting the monthly contribution of employees from their salaries and depositing the same to the co-operative body. Company may have to provide space for the co-operative office.

Any welfare scheme has to be on company's cost and it cannot be employees' cost.

Any such deduction will be illegal under the Payment of Wages Act.
