Hi all,

I'm working at XYZ company, and my notice period is 2 months. I have just resigned from my current employer and have been offered a position at Infosys. Here is the situation: as my joining date at Infosys is before the completion of my notice period, I do not have official notification of relieving, but I do have an email confirmation from my higher authority that my resignation has been accepted. Infosys has requested that I join on the ABC date, or else my employment offer will be cancelled.

Please advise me on what I should do in this case.

Dear Annonymous, Greetings!! Please forward them your resignation letter in hard or soft copy. That is enough. Thanks & Rgds

Thank you so much for your suggestion, Anonymous from Delhi. But my HR from Infosys is kind of threatening me that if the relieving letter is not there with you at the time of the Induction process, I can cancel the employment from the same. Though I have an email confirmation from my higher management that my resignation is accepted, still I feel HR might create something or the other problem. I feel I'm stuck. Please let me know how I can move forward.

Thanks & Regards.

It's a tricky situation. In the given situation, I have a few suggestions. Since your notice period is not over before your likely joining time, it's unlikely that your present employer will issue the official relieving letter before the close of NP. You have to submit an official request in hard copy to Infosys seeking time to join with a hard copy of RL attaching the printed extract of the email received from the superiors. Simultaneously, request the present employer to immediately issue the RL & Exp. letter. You may also forward this email to Infosys. Don't worry, by worrying you can't solve problems. Keep cool, face the challenges bravely. All the best.

Thanks for the suggestion from Bangalore. I will go with the hard copy, requesting Infosys to wait for some days until I get my RL attaching my email confirmation from my higher management or would request them to kindly extend the joining date.

But I have another question here: what if Infosys does not accept any of these things, then what should I do to overcome such a situation?

There’s no option but to pester with your present bosses. There is no easy way to solve a problem of this sort except following it up vigorously, on either side.

Thanks All for responses and suggestions. My Infosys HR has extended the DOJ for me. So, the problem is solved i guess. Thanks all again. Have great day ahead!!

Hi Divya,

How soon has Infosys given you this response? I am in a similar position, and I have shared my concerns over email with my manager and HR. I am awaiting their response for understanding. Is there any issue with that?
