Hi,

Recently, I appeared for an interview at HDFC Bank. After the selection process, they asked me to fill out a form for background verification where I had to mention my previous employer details and personal information. I submitted my release letter and other required documents. It has already been 15 days, and I have not received any communication from them. I am confused about my status - whether I have been selected or not. Please advise me on this matter.

Thank you.

Do not entertain any anxiety. Since this is the month of April, HRs are usually busy with appraisals, budgetary issues, etc. So, wait for some time and then send them an email. All the best.

Dear Ms. Swetadas,

No time is right to decide and wait for being heard from the interviewers. 15 days is a good amount of time for the candidate to get wane; start wondering if you'd make the interview. I suggest taking a sheet and jotting down the queries that you would want to inquire.

Don't squander much time in asking queries; often people make this mistake. You may like to know the feedback - they might have only a few minutes to wrap the conversation, hence quickly remind the interviewer about your candidature and the status for the position you were interviewed for. If the position is still open, ask if you are still being considered. These will definitely help as follow-up procedures without infuriating or consuming much time of both parties.

All the Best..!!

Hi,

I got a call from HR this time (on 29th April); she asked me to submit my medical fitness report. However, I did not receive the offer letter yet. I am a bit confused about what they are actually doing. They confirmed me, and I have already turned down other job opportunities. Please suggest what I should do.

Ms. Sweta,

Seems like your fortitude is showing amidst the adversity of the situation. Anyway, since you have already turned down other offers, why dwell on those that are now gone?!

They asked you to submit a "Medical Fitness Report," which is not alarming. Don't be confused; if your intention is to pursue a career in banking, you may need to exhibit a bit more patience.

If you still have doubts, reach out to the hiring team and inquire about the progress. Remember, overwhelming thoughts can collide, so try not to let anxiety take over, as it will trouble you for the foreseeable future.

Dear Sharmila,

Thanks for your opinion, but the thing is that the conversation was verbally between me and the hiring team. So, until and unless I am not getting any official letter from them, how can I confirm if I am selected? I already resigned from my previous company after getting a call from them that I am selected for "PB sales in HDFC." I decided to resign.

So I have one query: should I just wait for the letter or look for other options?

Thanks,
SWETA

Swetha - You can't let go of opportunities that come your way by just keep longing to work for a desired role. Remember the saying "Time & tide waits for none" -- Do not over wait for something that has been taking time protractively. I'd markedly suggest you pursue other opportunities before everything seems finished.

You may discuss it with your well-wishers and see what they have to offer you on a better note. But, remember to hear all and decide only that which you feel is correct!

Hi, HDFC Bank is doing the same thing with me. I have submitted all the documents on 8th August 2014. However, now they are saying that some psychometric test is pending for me. I told them that I can clear the test right away, but they are still not giving me the link to the psychometric test. I have already resigned from the last organization and sitting at home.

I am looking for other opportunities also but not getting a better job offer than HDFC Bank.

Hi, As already shared earlier, the HDFC Bank HR team is trying to provide me with the Offer Letter on time. The salary discussion sheet has been emailed to me, and I have accepted the salary offered. Additionally, as per the email, I was required to specify a date when I can join. I clearly communicated that I am available to join on 8th October. However, I have not yet received the formal date of joining or the location details. I had a conversation with the HR Manager, and he informed me that my Offer Letter is currently in process; therefore, I am patiently waiting.

I hold HDFC Bank in high regard. I am eager to join the organization as soon as possible and demonstrate my value as an asset to the company. I kindly request anyone reading this message to assist me in any way possible, whether through suggestions or connections. I have a family that depends on me, and it is challenging to remain without a job.

I appreciate any support you can provide. Thank you.

2nd Nov... still no offer letter. I called up the HR Manager on 26th Nov. and he said " You will get your offer this week". God knows what is happening.
