Dear Dharshan Palkar Please do not issue any appointment letter to the Contract Labour. It should be issued by the Contractor and not the Principal employer.

Dear Mr. Khola,
The Employment Card (Form XIV) is to be issued by the contractors to the workmen engaged by them and not by the Principal employer. That's the reason I advised against issuing any appointment letter.

I do not have any objection to your opinion. As the member is requiring this format on behalf of the contractor and only for his reference, I have given my opinion. The Employment Card form number may differ from state to state if the appropriate government is the state government.
