Hi,
I have been looking for information or guidance form this site on how to implement "Grading System" in my organization. I am sure may of your organization is already having grading system and based on that recruitment, Incentives, Promotions etc are being taking place.
My Organization is the dealer for cars, lubricants, and also workshops to support the car business. Hence employees consists of Mechanics, technician, Sale etc apart form accounts, admin, Imports, Export etc.
Please do provide me guidance, works or documents related to the grading system.
( I am a core Admin Person and have less knowledge in HR related activities apart from support role played in my earlier organizations. The new job I took up demands my contribution in HR activities too)
Thanks & Regards
John.

John,
Hi!
You need professional help. Designing and implementing a Grading System (i.e. designing Salary Grades & Structures and assigning positions/ jobs to each grade) is a very complex process that touches on the Job Evaluation (JE) Program.
Non-HR people like you should seek professional assistance because you cannot learn them from short discussions in this forum. And, nobody will teach you the full details done by professionals like us.
We can help you. Contact us if you have budget.
Best regards.

Basic guidance and resources can help in setting it up effectively. Seek advice from HR experts or refer to HR management books for assistance.

  • Dear Jhon,

I agree with Ed Llarena Jr. You would require professional support if you are doing this for the first time. You would need to understand the process as a whole, how the dynamics work in your sector, local competitive compensation input and finally your organization 's requirement.

All these needs a lot of research and expert understanding. Please do consider on hiring one , in the meantime work along your knowledge level as you would require to work parallel with the expert .Here are few document and discussion which might hep you to work on your knowledge level. To read more , please do use the research tab to find a more accurate document.
