Dear Rachna, It depends on HR Policy- company to company. that is not a statutory. If the same has been not mentioned in your policy, then - we should not consider it. Regards, Sunil

Dear Rachna,
It is dependent on the company policy.
In my earlier company they have deducted the holiday leave also (manufacturing company) but now i am working in the consultancy - MNC where they are not calculating the leave before and after the holiday.

Dear Rachna,
The type of leave that you are talking about is known as "Sandwich Leave".
this type of leave is applicable in the case that you have presented in your query - when an employee takes leaves before and after the holiday, all 3 days shall be credited to leave account of the employee.
The sandwich leave also applies when a company works 5 days a week. Here, when an employee takes leave on Friday as well as on Monday then all four days days from Friday to Monday shall be credited as leaves in the leave account of the employee.
Sandwich Rule is not a law or act and is not mandatory. Several companies include it in their HR Leave Policy to have a control over the frequency of leaves taken by the employees and to keep a check on the misuse of the weekends and holidays provided.
I hope this will help!
Regards.

Since, you are applying for casual leave, prefix or suffix of closed holidays,or weekly off-days, may be allowed. However, these things depend on company leave policy.

Dear Rachna,
The Rule of Casual Leave is depend on Company to Company
If a worker avail leave before & After holiday/W Off.
1.Employee sanction leave in advance then you can consider his CL.& If he has not sanction leave prior then its depend on company mark Absent or Present. This formula also depend on case to case. But if Employer sanction CL then you can deduct two CL.
Thanks & Regards

This is purely depend upon your company policy. In normal case, if an employee avail leave pre-fix and suffix a holiday/weekly - off then, all three days shall be counted as leave. Thanks R K Nair
