Hi,
I am thinking of shifting my career from being a Generalist HR to becoming a Functional Analyst in ERP , SAP HR consultant.
I have close to 3 years Generalist HR Experience.
Can anyone guide me on how to go about this? Would companies take me in based on my HR generalist experience and give me training in SAP HR?
Would appreciate any pointers :)
Thanks in advance, eagerly awaiting your response.

It is a good idea to become an SAP HR consultant but it is always good to have worked in strategic part of HR and then jump to SAP HR. Normally SAP HR consultant may end up designing whole HR system and if the person is only has exposure to Payroll and generalistic view, the growth prospects become slow. Thanks. Jay Menon. Hi Hemaa
You can approach the SAPIENT College in Chennai ( Uttamar Gandhi Salai) given to understand as they offer Certification course ( awarded directly from SAP Germany ) and also placement oppurtunities, but the course duration is for 45 days and at the end you need to clear the examination and the fee is around 2.5 Lacs if I am not wrong please check with them .

Hi!
Could someone give an overview of what SAP is all about? I was asked by my employer to learn SAP. Could u tell me some decent enough institutes in Bangalore which offer SAP-HR? I have close to two years hardcore recruitements experience with an idea of all other HR functions.
Waiting for response,
Vasudha.

Hi Padmaja,
You can attend Siemens, they are charging 2.5 lacs, and you have Reliance in ameerpet which charge 20k, they provide you project and certificate also,
Reliance has good track record of placement's, so you can have a look at it, there is another institute near sardhi studio, its called peoplesoft, you can check that also,
Thanks

Hi Hema,
Go ahead and take course in sap hr, but many company's are not taking HR's who has domian exp.
If they recruit also, its through internal, recently wipro recruited internally for sap hr,
and you can do course in siemens, but i can saywit my exp, its waste of 2.5 lacs.
Check institues, faculty, whether they are providing any projects to work, placements.
