Hi
The scope is as good as you want it to be, give your best, HR rules, concepts, experience remains consistent with any organizations. Quality of your contribution in making the organization effective will decide the growth and scope of your Career..
On a practical note, today's times education is becoming privatized, so the market potential of education industry is being explored by big players in the market. Corporatization of Education is taking place in every nook and corner of the world. So expect good demand for HR professionals in this industry.
However, research the reputation and size of the educational organization you are joining.

Dear Vijay Krishnan
Thank you for the response, However I m presently based in Kuwait. Conversing on the phone would be difficult due to difference in time zones. If you have any queries you can send me a Private mail on this site.
Also if your queries are general in nature and you would like to post them here, you will get much better and qualified advise from the seniors who are members of this forums. Much more qualified and experienced than me.
However I would be happy to help in my capacity.
Thanks

I think members may be confused by what you are asking here.
Firstly if you want to know about the job, then may I ask how you got a job as a HR Manager if you know NOTHING about what it is you are supposed to be doing.
Secondly questions about the future and scope of the job should be addressed to your employer not us. We know nothing about your employer and what he requires.
There seems to be a lot of posts here on CiteHR where the person asking the question has no idea about the job they are supposed to be doing. How does one get a job in an area where they have absolutely no skills, no experience and no idea??? Seems to me a lot of organisations have a lot of work to do in the area of recruitment and selection to ensure they get QUALIFIED candidates to fill the HR positions.

Dear John,
I think organisations appoint candidates who have completed their MBA (HR) recently. The way questions are posed (one-line messages) seeking help gives that impression.
Same goes for short messages that seek help on Competency Mapping, Workload Analysis, etc.; for example, see https://www.citehr.com/351301-workload-analysis.html
Have a nice day.

Hi Simhan,
Sort of guessed that might be the case!
But I still struggle to understand why any organisation would appoint staff members who had no practical experience and no other staff on hand to train the new guy. Anyone straight out of school needs to start as a junior somewhere and learn the basics first from the older hands.
Sorry, but I think an MBA or any other "academic" qualification might be nice to have, but I will always employ the person who has the practical skill to do the job.

dear seniors
i do agree that in india most of colleges and universities all just "DEGREE SHOPS" but if want to change the system then we all have to stand together. From this plateform i would like to call all students, academic professionals to make a pool to remove these dirty roots.
and to the main topic if you are workind in uni. As hr executive and uni is following all the norms of hr laws and practicing ethically then carry on you will learn other wise you are wasting ur time.

Dear John
Thanx for ur comments but a fresher can also be talented. He/She may ve knowledge as eqivalent to the one who is practically strong all it needs is skills. As u should know that u were also fresher at once & was given chance by some.

University jobs are quite non eventful, with different factions and very many cases of infighting where you will be asked to just keep away. It is stable but boring. It would be a good FIRST job for you OR if you want to stay in once place for job security or other reasons, it is good. Trust me, I know of several agri univ where the HR guy twiddle their thumbs the whole day.
