Dear Jazi,
During manpower planning,recruitment,benchmarking,salary increment,promotions,decisions on monetary benefits etc. both salary structure design and grading system plays an important role.If your grading system is properly planned/executed it will be easier for you to design effective salary structure .

Dear Jazi and Avinash,
Following points should be important during prep. of grading system:
1.Nature of business and industry benchmarking.
2.Job analysis and job evaluation of each position.
3.Impact of behaviour,performance,contribution to the growth of company etc.
You can prepare Grading system with grades and subclasses within grades as of nature of work
depends on your Industry general and organisation particular.
