Dear Members!
This is Vijendra working in an Steel Industry which is an MNC.
As per demand from our employees we are going to develop saturday off policy in the company.Presently we work on 6 days a week between 08.30 am to 5.30pm.
We would want to introduce Saturday off for all the support staff as this is followed in other countries of our Group.
Can anyone share their views suggestions on how to develop this policy ?
We want to convince both management & employees with the valid reason and suggestions.
Thank You,
With Best Regards,
Vijendra

You can go ahead with 5 day working, but please ensure the minimum working hours per week is maintained. It will be tough to convince the management so take extra precaution while putting forth to the management. Last but not the least, never compare what other countries are doing, instead look into the law/rule first of your country, if it permits then only see other options.

Dear All, If any public holiday like Republic Day OR Independent Day will come on Weekly Off Day (Sunday) in that case can we entitle for Compensatory Off for the same Or Not.

There is no hard and fast rule that you should get a compensatory off for the public holiday falling on weekly off day, you can treat it as a hard luck for you. Please keep in mind that the employer is there to earn so as to pay you guys and not to lose and pay from the pocket. Sorry to sound harsh, since most of the employees think of their benefit only rather than thinking of mutual benefit.
