Hi
You have articulated a question that plagues very many people and creates serious doubts in the mind of those who are introverts by nature, are withdrawn by temperament and shy to a fault.
Each one of us is born with a fair amount of talent, skill and ability. However most times the emphasis is on academics, sports and visible talents like singing, painting etc. What remains untapped partly due to ignorance but mainly due to indifference, is the individuality of the person. The term soft skills could be seen to focus on the individuality and it by and large covers the whole gamut of possibilities to be tapped; be it in demonstrating leadership skills, becoming an engaging speaker, demonstrating creativity or being disciplined and important team player etc.
We have to introspect and discover areas of of our strengths that we haven't leveraged yet. With a systematic study and expert guidance, one can definitely make progress in some of the areas of our deep interest as well as strengths. To become very proficient, a fair degree of natural ability is a must and this can be polished with study, practice and improvisation.
To summarize even if one is born with enormous talent it may remain latent till discovered and leveraged with systematic inputs and on the other hand a lack of talent cannot be a limiting factor for someone who is determined and passionate enough to acquire the skills sets they covet.
For those who would like to work on their communication skills and vocabulary in English, the contents of the following Inspirational and Motivational blogs could be useful

Dear Ruby,
Mr Jacob has given you a detailed explanation; hence, I will raise questions and make a general suggestion. What do you do and why have you raised this question? Did you search CiteHR and read material already available?
I take this opportunity to state that we should read material available and express what we think about a topic and then seek others' views. For example, there are some links at the side to ppt presentations that have views similar to those made by Mr. Jacob.

Hello rubychristina16,
B.Jacob has given you a very clear direction of where the answer to your query could lie.
However, I am with Simhan that your query could have been appropriate IF you could have added more details of your background, the reason(s) for the query, etc.
If you are wondering as to why these details are needed to answer your query, pl note that such inputs would enable those members trying to help you out with giving explanations would be better guided based on your background--if you are in HR line, some aspects of the answer may not really be needed to be touched upon--for they are 'deemed understood', going by the professional exp. But if you need the answer to handle a project assignment, the response would need to be in much greater detail. Hope you get the point.
Why not go thru the earlier Postings & see if your query is answered in-toto? You can use the reSearch facility @ the top of this page.

All the skills and whatever needed is within every human being irrespective of capabilities, the difference arise whether they are realizing according to the circumstances they experience, which only results in grouping the known skills. It is just like planting in different types of land areas and under different kind of weather temperatures and resources, obviously you will get the different results, that doesn't make the difference in inbuilt nature of the plants.......
So, I suggest all who feel a bit low confidence from within, not to care about the criticisms of others and undergo the complexity problems, but try to provoke the abilities residing within you giving it a time (after all it takes time to loosen the rusted screws and nuts, the unused or hardly used ones, which we all have in plenty), to get stimulated and articulated for the purpose of its recognition, even your grouping list enlarges by it self........
All the very best......

You seem to be having an assignment or a competition!! Self research is always the best, opinions given by others are always the opinions only. you can never argue on that, because they are absolutely the results of one's prudence, observation and experiences which are never the same with all..., so you can not argue on them to judge them, you will have only the choice to accept or not to accept such views, for your own purposes.......
So, try to research and frame your own opinion backing it up with the facts and evidences to make it more effective.......
