Hi,
We are foundry based company. So my motive is to train workers on their basic area. Example Core shop making, melt shop , moulding line. Basically it will be on the job training . but i want to add safety instructions and behaviour skills also. So i am planning to make it through flow charts as well as vedio clips aslo.
Please suggest.

I would suggest you hire a professional trainer and do the job properly as you appear to know nothing about training.
In a high risk area like a foundry, this training needs to be handled by people who know what they are doing.

I could not agree more with John! A training company like mine will, in your particular situation, at best, guide you on the technical aspects of the 'how to' for designing a training module, delivering it etc... However, the contents of any such module will have to, and should, come from an expert in the foundry industry.

Knowing the abysmally low safety record and levels of occupational health & safety in India, especially in mid-sized enterprises, I won't be surprised if John's suggestion is brushed aside. But, I am hoping that your company is different and really does care about its people.

And, Pooja, if any training company tells you that they'll help you with outsourced assistance, tie ups etc... almost 99.5 out of a 100 will be lying to you. Your requirement is very specific and your industry is very high risk with abundant potential for real risk to human life at every step. Please make sure that whoever you choose to assist you is not just qualified, but very experienced in your industry.

I can only help you in suggesting how to design a training model etc... But, your real problem cannot be solved here. I seriously think you must approach your industry association or apex body. Surely they will have someone to help you!

Take care!

Hi Pooja,

It does seem that you are new to this area. Do a little reading and understand the training cycle as it would not be easy to explain the whole process here.

Training cycle starts with training need analysis i.e. you need to determine what are the important areas which need to be covered in training, what kind of employees require a particular training, etc.

Once that is done, you need to address each identified training need and develop a training program. You would need to identify the topics to be covered, faculty for the topics, target audience etc.

After that, execute the program. Send program invites, confirm faculty, frame the schedule etc, besides other logistics.

Conduct the program and take a program feedback. try and do a training effectiveness study.

You ca take the help of seniors, department heads in designing programs, especially functional programs. Initially use the help of external faculty, especially for behavioural programs as they would help in designing the module as per your needs. Once you have sufficient experience you can start identifying suitable internal faculty for functional/ behavioural programs.

Hope this helps. It is hard to start from scratch but is also an interesting learning experience.

Dear, Pooja
1. First of all Decide how much senior members in your organisation
2. Than discuss with you senior regarding training
3. Findout how many Employees need training and which field they need training
4. Then allocate each employees with every senior persons according to there specialisation
5. This is mainly Mentors & Mentees module
6.Allocate No. of Mentees to Mentors
7. At the last decide the time period/Training table day wise according to the time available
8. And pass this information to the Mentors & Mentees

Dear John
You are right we cannot take risk with the training, but first all we have know training is important or not, which type of training it is, can we give training internally to the employees.
Or we have to recruit other proffessional trainer according to the company need.
Pls tell how's going on, is it every thing ok in the company.
