Dear Meenu,
According to one of the reference, the Difference Between Policies and Procedure is as follow...
A policy is a guiding principle used to set direction in an organization. A procedure is a series of steps to be followed as a consistent and repetitive approach to accomplish an end result. Together they are used to empower the people responsible for a process with the direction and consistency they need for successful process improvement.

Hi khyati
Nice to read your suggestions.
I am also working in a small IT company. I am the one who has set up the whole HR department after joining. Can you suggest some innovative ways to motivate IT employees. I usually organize HR activities on weekly basis.
But would like to learn more ways from you and your experience.

Sakshi....1st of all send daily motivational quotes to all employees...this way the employees will come to know the existence of HR.
Have Weekly or Monthly open communication sessions if your management allows.
If management doesn't allow then put a suggestion box and review it monthly with top management people.
Greet everyone on the morning with a smile. Be interactive as much as possible. \
Communicate openly. Have weekend or month end activities, birthday celebrations, religious and patriotic days celebrations by forming temporary groups as form new group every time you decide for celebrations.
More suggestions you will get on the Cite as well as Google.
Viku.....Nvr Thank me Buddy!!!

Hi Shilpishikha…

First, I’d like to know something from you…

What process you need to prepare for your company?
Are you the only person for your HR department in your Company or going to setup a new HR Deptt?

Well, If you wanna learn and understand the working of Human Resource and their Functions, must go through the old post with the same subjects/topics which has been discussed by numbers of Cite Members on Human Resource, HR Career, Value And Importance Of HR, HR Functions. It will give you the basic understanding/ knowledge and confidence to do your work.

Second, on your response to Khyati, I second after her, would like to request you to go to SEARCH option located at top of the Cite page, also you can get the same by Mr. Google. There are numbers of things are available on web. Please use SEARCH OPTION.

Thanks for your inputs Khyati!!

Third, I have something for you that you can use to know more and learn about the HR and their functions. I call them "My 7 Stars of HR" here is the pages ..just go thru them and im sure this will help you to understand your work and lot more..

But for designing of HR Policies, Procedures, & Processes; you must go to your superiors/seniors for this first bcz this is not an easy task. Formulating Policies, Procedures, & Processes is not just a difficult task but Implementing, review, redesigning and introducing of HR policies can be done by Authorised Administrative personnel only. They have to do and recognize a lot more in this regards.

For Example:

For Policy & Procedure for Canteen Management, you have to start with the location, Vendor, Facilities for Employees/Workers, Food and Item along with Rate List for the same and many more…

For Policy & Procedure for Security Management-One have to make a system (Factory Round if you are going to make this for a FACTORY), Maintaining of Log Book /Register /Record for incoming and outgoings of employees/visitors, Gate Pass-IN & OUT, Punching System for Attendance and Shifts/Changing of Security personnel and lot more…
Policy & Procedure for Scrap/Wastage

For a every system and working style there is a POLICY PROCEDURE & PROCESS and one just not have to work on them but have to keep a track of records to the procedures, processes, formats / forms in line with organizational goals…

Note : Khyati, dear you can post or reply with the links in a single thread too…please do not post multiple threads for a thing related to one Subject

Best of Luck
