Hi All,
I am working with a construction company in ahmedabad,Gujarat. It is a PVT LTD Company. We are having weekly off on sunday at office but at site there are no weekly off for site employees( not labour) i.e engineer, supervisor, etc. So it is compulsory that we have to provide weekly off to them? or it is ok if we dont provide week off to them. we are giving salary on present days in a month base. if a employee is present 29 days in 30 days month then we deduct 1 day salary or 1 leave from his leave balance(SL,CL,PL). so is it ok by law or what?
Regards,
Helly

One day off with salary/ wages after six days of work is a right of every employee. Therefore, you should provide them one day off with pay. It is okay depending upon the nature of work you can grant off on any other day than sunday. The practice of deducting salary for the day not worked in illegal also.
