Dear Team, Kindly guide on weekly holidays, Can workmen (Unskilled) work 10 hrs daily and avail two days weekly off? i.e 5days week

The maximum hours of work per day is 9 hours, excluding intervals for rest. The spread over, i.e., the time including intervals for rest, cannot be more than 10 hours and 30 minutes. For example, if you have only a 30-minute break for lunch, you can make the workers work for 10 hours. However, the hours of work per week shall not exceed 48 hours. In this case, your workers would be working for 50 hours per week, which is not permissible.

Rightly said by Mr. Madhu as per Factories Act 1948 weekly number of working hours if 48 hours and on daily basis it 8 hours but can be extended maximum upto 9 hours.
