Dear Abirami,
The difference is:
Full time faculties/ professors
Facilities, atmosphere
Mock sessions
Exposure
ability to concentrate
WHile there are difference, I would not say that Distance learning is not an option, it is better than many b-c grade institutes which have mushroomed in India.
If you are already working Distance Learning is a good option, otherwise I would suggest to prepare for CAT, MAT and other examz of repute to get admission in a good institute.
For recruitments I dont think most IT companies look for any specific qualification. From my experience I know of companies which hire graduates for recruitment/ payroll kind of work.
So dear, it is purely upto you, what kind of Career you are interested in.
Cheers!!

Hi!
the basic and foremost difference between the two is of the approach!
One is classroom teaching which includes case analysis, presentations, discussions etc which is properly guided and monitored by the mentors and the other is a self study. Yes you can definitely gain knowledge by reading books but what about practical exposure.
A distance learning program is good for an executive working in the organization and seeking for further career growth but for a fresher, i would certainely refer a full time campus based program as it gives you ample opportunity to improve your skills and develop your personality.
Just judge which one would be suitable and go for it!!
Any further question?? Do contact me!!
Cheers!

For MBA you have following options
1. IIMS and the like which include XLRI, TISS( for HR) and a few more
2. Top 30 ranked Institutes
3. Next category upto 100 ramks
4 Other Institutes
5 Distance from IIMs/XLRI
6 Distance from others
Difference between Corres and direct is that you get diorect exposure and more focused. You are corrected then and there. You have healthy competition in teh campus. You also get exposed tolatest in the area of Management. You also ghet practicing manageres giving lectures
In correspondance, there is limiuted interaction.
Many prefer direct MBAs for their organisation. You can have some growth with a distance programme but at alter stage you will get struck

Dear Abirami,
Distance Education Course / Correspondance course are well-come but not compareble, because, if you look your past you will find the difference if you really doing a distance education course.
Moreover, if you appear any interview you will not get similar evaluation too.
Study under regular course will give you more competitive knowledge than DEC.
Last but not least, every study depends how serious you are. If you wants to learn you may by any means.
Thanks

Talking about the ground reality, Distance Education is still not valued by corporate. If you can afford to, regular is most advisable.
So, why Distance? Well, you learn with your pace and prepare for future studies! It teaches you to discipline and self-management - two very important attributes for higher studies.
I personally completed Distance learning only to get used to terminology of MBAs and now I am planning for full-time after my GMAT.
Thanks

Hi,
Distance Education is not treated on par with full-time program. It only helps in certain cases - someone who has been working in a company and has a good track record.. the company may consider elevating this person to a higher position when this person acquires a higher degree, even if it is through the distance mode.
However, if you still opt, considering your circumstances, to pursue a course through distance education please ensure that the course is recognized by Distance Education Council.
