Hi Friends,
These days Testing on aptitude has grown in the organisations. Please help me what most of the companies look in aptitude tests on the following issues.
Do aptitude tests vary for different jobs? Ex: Sales, finance, software.
Till what level (fresher, middle level, higher level) aptitude tests are used?
What are the competencies that can be looked out in the aptitude tests?
Please give me your views on these...

Career exploration is the study options. Do I become and engineer or do I become an account? Do I go to college or do I go to work?
Some people think we need an aptitude for a career for career success and satisfaction. An aptitude is less important than commonly thought and it is not enough.

Hi,
Now I can understand the role of aptitude test. I am now going to attend an interview of World's one of the leading IT companies for HR trainee position. They conduct 5 rounds. I am little worried about the initial aptitude test.. If you can suggest me some areas I should concentrate I can attend it more confidently.

Hi,
Aptitude Test is used for employee selection as well . In India it is imp and mandatory in some Companies to use it, It has English Grammer and Numerical Test . It is normally used for Junior , Entry Level . For Middle and Senior Level Companies conduct Psychometric tests. It varies from nature of business and job portfolio.

Aptitude tests are characterised by structured systematic ways of evaluating how people perform on tasks or react to different situations. They have standardised methods of administration and scoring with the results quantified and compared with how others have done at the same tests. They are increasingly administered on a computer.

Aptitude tests are used to measure your mental reasoning ability, most commonly your numerical, verbal, comprehension, and abstract or spatial reasoning skills. These tests are usually timed and so the pressure can be quite intense. Work quickly but accurately, but don’t be surprised if you don’t answer all questions.

for an example: they also look for the competency such as Emotional intelligence to identify candidates who possess a good level of 'emotional competency'. In summary, 'E.I.' is your capacity to:

-Recognise and manage emotions in yourself and in your relationships

-Use feelings to guide your thoughts and actions

-Motivate yourself and others

I work in an electronic manufacturing company. I would like to use aptitude tests to assess numerical ability and analytical ability. Can members kindly guide me to sources for the same. Also, can we have tests to assess if the person is money-oriented or goal-oriented.
