HR People faking their CV’s
As we are discussing about the challenge of fake CV and how one keep a check on such profiles, it becomes very apparent to discuss about HR people faking their CV’s. They, themselves are not very clean. They have access to company letter-heads; they have access to salary structures and also (being in such position and department), they can also influence and manipulate their reference checks. Not only this, sometimes they also manipulate their duties and responsibilities as well.
Not all HR people do this but many does. So, how do you think that we can put a check on such HR people and stop them from entering into the market ??

Hi Sanjana,
This is a very interesting topic and indeed a common trend these days....people go to any extent just to make sure that they get whatever they want and aspire for....Till the time they are fair in their transactions, it is called preserverance but when they start cheating, it reflects very bad on their part....especially folks from HR....being the face of the Org they work with...its very bad on their part to cheat the same company...
The best i can think of minimizing such issues is to ask for reference details from the past Org with their visiting cards attached, and if not the Vcards then atleast the office extn number. In that case you can also cross check with the company if the person who has been given as a reference works in the same dept or not.
Also in big MNC's there is always a separate department who takes care of the reference checks and they usually dont fake.
Friends, your inputs are welcome..

Hi Sanjana and Shilpa,
What u r discussing is partially true.. I've seen this in my old company.. one of my colleague actually she joined b4 me, she produced the fake certificate initially and the mgmt didnt find this.. but i came 2 know this thru one of her colleague in her previous company.. she was working as a front office executive but have produced exp certificate as HR Recruiter.. after coming to this company she has used to letter head and has produced a letter including her previous exp with this company and had removed some documents from her file.. When Mgmt came to know abt this they fired her.. This is happening in most of the small companies.. We have to b very careful while doing reference chk and bckgrnd verification..
Cheers,

Hello Sanjana
As you said not all the HR people give fake C.V but let me say only few in 10000's might be doing this.
There could be a no. of resons for making things happen in their favour. One is getting in corporate culture for good career and money.
I have a Question how many people look for the knowledge the person have ,for screening the profiles they go for degree and percentage.
People with less knowledge and good percentage get an easy entry in MNC's.

Well, the type of responses that I have got till now and number of people who are seriously interested in addressing this problem shows that HR people are only interested in finding the genuineness of others profile and CV’s but not their own.
They like to have some guidelines and processes for themselves and different for others.
This in fact is very bad state of this profession.
People are interested in giving their comments and views on jokes and humours or some commonsense questions but not on serious issues like this.

hay sanjana......you are absolutely correct regarding the issue you all were discussing..... i too have faced the same...pple come up to me and request me to give a false salary slip.....or manupulate in the experience certificate......it sometimes becomes really tough to handle.....and as i have to refuse for the proposal.....i become the worst person in the organisation..... :) nevermind....and now let us come to the HRs.... not all misuse the opputunity what i beleive......but yes their remains the chances of mis using the opprtunity.....you know this only the ethics which will keep away the HRs from doing such manupulations....isnt it???what you say?????

hey,
May be some of them in HR are faking their experience. But even if they fake it management will find it soon because it will reflect in their performance. In such a competitive world no management would like to keep an unproductive employee. Now one of our friends mentioned about a front office executive faking his/her experience, and the management found it out through a common reference..I think world is too small,we keep meeting people again and again..so even if somebody fakes it will not remain undetected for a long time.
Cheers

Its Shame to call themselves a true HR person by faking their CV's :x
Also wats important is that corporate's are getting fooled by this & they dont have any means to find out until they do a Employee Verification.
The above mentioned Procedure would increase the intake time but it would atleast confirm that the person is genuine & can be trusted

Dear All
I am a new joinee in this community but i think there are lot many ways through which we can check the reality
We can hire some investigating companies through which we can check the background and details provided by the Candidates & side by side we can check the same ourself also.

Dear Minakshi,
IMO hiring a investigation company would send wrong signals to employee.
If a Company would genuinely like to do a Verification on the employee, they can very well ask the employee to co-operate with the concerned verification service provider.
I myself am doing Employee verification of many employees in several companies & hence find this method to be viable & you'll find a co-operation from the employee too....:D
