Hi All,
I have resigned from my former organization about an year ago in the month of August, 2007.
Since then I have shifted to a different city with a new job but unfortunately could not finish the PF formalities to get it cleared.
I do not wish to transfer the account and want to withdraw it.
Is there any way to do that without going back to the office? I am in a dilemma as the amount is not a small amount.
Please help.

Hi,
There are two options for getting your PF dues.
1. Fill form 16 and send it to your ex office for their signature and then send it to the PF authorities.
2. Fill up Form 16 and get it notorized by a notary public and submit it to the PF authorities.

Dear Ambarish,
In case of PF withdrawal - you need to fill up two forms
1. Form 19
2. Form 10C
In your case - please download the forms from EPFO and fill it up and send it to your ex-office HR. As you have left a year back, it is adviseable that you should attach few supportive docs (like offer letter, Reliving or exp letter etc) of your employment with that company. That is also helpful for the HR to track your details and then they will attest it - then finally it will be sent to PF office. So you need not walk in to your x-office but the get the things done
Prashantha Kumar - I cld see that you have mentioned as form 16 to be filled up - that might be by mistake i believe. Pls confirm Ambarish on this
Thanks,
Venkat

Thanks Venkat, but do you think that downloaded forms will help. Don't they have to be sent to me by ex company.
On the other hand I guess it was a typo error by Prashant.
Again, thank to you and Prashant for the suggestions.

The downloaded form will certainly help Ambarish. It is NOT necessary that you should receive it only from ex-employer. However try to get an acknowledgment from the HR on the receipt of your PF withdrawal forms.

Hi,
You can fill the form and send it to your previous office for the signing and stamping formalities. Good companies usually completes all the formalities for their employees. Do not forget to stick the attested 1 Rs. revenue stamp on forms otherwise it will not be accepted.
Talk to the HR person in your previous company and find out if they can do the formalities for you.

Hi,
I agree with Venkat.
Check with your past employer how they are processing the PF withdrawal. As I know some companies they directly submit the forms to PF office. In that case ensure you attach the cheque leaf (Can be photocopy also for the reference) along with the withdrawal forms. Because above Rs.2000 the amount credit will be through ECS.

For transfering the PF account submit for 13 through the present employer to the Employees Provident Fund Organisation. In form 13 the signature of previous employer is not required.
With the introduction of NSSNumber the transfer is expected to be more easy.
