Have gone through the reply, seems the authority itself is confused therefore mystified. If this the reply from the EPFO PIO then it was better to do googling on the topic!!

My manager asked me to resign, stating that there were no projects matching my tech skills and availability. At that time, I was only a few weeks pregnant, so I did not disclose this information. Under pressure, I submitted my resignation the next day after they requested it.
Luckily, the organization assigned me to a project a week later, and I started working on it. I received many appreciation emails for my work. I then informed them about my pregnancy and my inability to move to another firm at this time. They verbally assured me that I could stay on since I was now involved in a project. However, I did not receive any written confirmation regarding this extension. As I was serving a three-month notice period, I was confident I could continue working there, despite the stress of managing financial and medical matters.
With only five days left before my last working day, I was informed that I had to leave on the specified release date and provide knowledge transfer for my project. I immediately approached the HR department and sent an email addressing my concerns.
Could you please provide clarification on my situation? I am eager to take action on this matter. How is it that they assigned me to a project after I had already resigned due to lack of work? Am I legally entitled to maternity benefits in this situation?
