Is it a genuine query ??
I am surprised to see such query from the member who professes to be an HR GENERALIST.
Ignorance of Law is not an excuse; especially for a HR professional knowledge of such provisions is a must.
Raising or having such basic queries, question the competence and education of such concerned HR and invite ridicule for the profession.
Warm regards.

Dear Sir, the List of Holidays in Maharashtra is more than 4. The List of Govt. Holidays in India,on a STATE level, differs according to the diff states.
I believe they are NOT included under NATIONAL holidays.
May 1 is a Universal Labor day and hence a Holiday, though it also Happens to be THE Maharashtra Day, & that's a different issue.
I am not aware of it being considered as a National holiday in India.
Kindly correct me, if so.
