Dear Laxmikant,
Please read and digest the contests at https://www.citehr.com/20714-what-di...rtificate.html .
Could you also tell us how your Experience letter is worded. If it says that you worked at xxx from yyy date till zzz, then it is as good as a relieving letter.

Dear Joshi,
Experience letter would help enhance your claim for higher salary in a new job as it speaks of what you accomplished. Relieving letter is something that releases you from the employer making you eligible to take up another job. No reputed company will allow you to join without a relieving letter from all your previous companies.
Hence you have to go back to your old company and get a letter relieving you as on xxxx date. (which incidentally is your last working day in that company)

Relieving letter is a written statement by employer to employer that the employee is no more with the organization and from the leaving date he/she is free from their employment conditions.
And because your experience letter is containing the same element and date of your leaving from organization and that you have worked with them for a period (till your last day of working), is able to serve the purpose and the same can be supply to your employer.
You just need to meet your HR person again and express the same again.
