5.0 DOS AND DONTS DURING SIP
Dos: You should
Get an overview of the Company/Industry in which you are placed. This
includes understanding the core business of the company, organizational.
Chart, key personnel in the company, manufacturing units, marketing
channels, financial policies, etc.
Obtain a copy of the latest annual report and analyze the financial
statement, wherever possible.
Make an analysis of the company vis-เ-vis the industry and prepare
SWOT analysis.
Always maintain formal dress code.
Always be polite in dealings and maintain cordial relationship with the
Company Executives.
Always be positive and open to suggestions.
Always make a note of the important points during meetings/discussions.
Get in touch with the Faculty Guide, if the situation warrants.
Maintain strict confidentiality of Company information.
Consult Faculty Guide or refer text books to reinforce relevant concepts.
Always submit bills in time when reimbursement is to be claimed. Get
conversant with company policies/rules before incurring an expenditure.
Always be present whenever the Faculty Guide and/or Placement Executive
visits the company.
Focus on assignment, and complete the individual tasks allotted on
schedule.
Donts: You should not
Criticize the company policies and/or Company Executives.
Criticize or make adverse observations about INC and/or Faculty
Guide.
Attend the office in informal dress.
Get into arguments and lose temper.
Misuse the facilities offered by the company.
Go to meetings and presentations unprepared or ill-prepared.
Be late.
Leave the office without prior permission from the Company Guide.
Be impolite or rude to Company Executives.
Exceed the mandate given by the Company Guide and collect
information that is confidential in nature.
Hold back any material /equipment /accessories provided by the
company on a returnable basis.
Borrow money or any other personal effects of the Company
Executives.
Interfere in third party assignments.
Encourage friends visiting work place during office hours and cause
inconvenience to others.
6.0 RESPONSIBILITIES OF A STUDENT INTERN:
Each Student Intern is assigned to a Faculty Guide at the beginning of the SIP. He/She should discuss with the Faculty Guide the various components of Executive Training/Project Work and seek clarifications on any matter related tothem. You shall
1. Strictly follow these SIP guidelines.
2. Prepare a brief on the Industry/Company and submit it to the Faculty Guide.
3. In the initial stages of SIP, understand the company as a whole and study the
annual reports of the company to understand various policy issues and
financial matters.
4. Have continuous interaction with the Faculty Guide and the Company Guide.
5. Report constraints if any, to Faculty Guide without delay.
6. Submit reports at various stages strictly as per SIP calendar.
7. Take presentation as an opportunity to impress the host company and ensure
its success.
8. Submit weekly SIP progress report to the Faculty Guide.
You shall also endeavor to secure placement offer in SIP Company through
dedicated work and result orientation.
