As it is a go green initiative,it is related to nature. nature is the best source for stress relief.
A stress releasing activity i.e Day Dream can be done on the place of tree plantation where participants can be asked to imagine that place as green and as beautiful they can. This will help them to work wholeheartedly and clear to the focus.

Hai shraddha
Congrats for taking initiative measures in spreading Go green Environment.
You can plan to tell suggestions for your team like avoiding paper works mostly and by also to avoid printing the contents unnecessarily.
Moreover you can plan for a vehicle less day in your office. In sense all vehicles should be banned inside the office area on that particular day.
Can create awareness program by visiting near by schools and colleges.
Insisting team members not to use or buy things made of plastic(like carry covers & and containers which is made of low quality of plastics).

Dear All,
- Instead of paper cups, team members can be provided with normal glasses and cups (washable, which we normally use at home)
-if necessary to print, Print on both sides of paper.
-Within office, instead of sending paper hardcopy letters, memos, notices, improve your intranet, so that all information is posted on company intranet, all people can read on computers.
-Even salary slips are only available on our personal accounts in company intranet (no hard copy), avoid use of paper.
-Even leave application is also done online in our company. no paper used.

Hello Shraddha Ambre,

Quite a few good suggestions have already come.

You may try the following:

1.0 Encourage all forms of energy saving. Put off unwanted light , fan , Ac etc

2.0 If there are high energy consuming appliances like Ac , Refrigerator etc periodically replace with efficient ones.

3.0 If there is space in your premises encourage tree sapling plantations by customers.

4.0 At a distant place, where land is available make special programmes to distribute sapling of trees.

5.0 Enourage the use of pool cars.

6.0 Discourage overstay of persons beyond office hours( this should have Mangament backing).

7.0 With slight modifications if you can get natural light / air into the premises -- explore those opportunities.

8.0 If company policy permits, enourage people to work from home, on selective basis.

9.0 Call the nearby school children and conduct awareness programme to help the next generation.

10.0 Try to conserve water by avoiding wastage, reuse and recycle.

11.0 Restrict / Avoid thin Plastics entering your premises.

Every passing day brings more depressing news on the energy and economy front, whether it is of oil prices sky-rocketing or of inflation crossing the 12% mark or of electrical energy being either not available due to power outages or being prohibitively priced.

All of which puts undue pressure on company bottom-lines, eating into company profits !

And, while we cannot easily increase our finite and fast depleting energy resources we can most certainly manage them better.

I am Ravishankar Nagarajan, Certified Energy Auditor, Certified Energy Manager and an Energy Management Professional with over two decades of rich experience in the field, and I offer to help you with my two-pronged approach to reduce your Energy Bills, viz.,

Energy Audit Solutions : Whether you are a designated consumer mandated by the Energy Conservation Act, 2001, to carry out a periodic Energy Audit or simply want to reduce your Energy Bills, anywhere from 5% to 20%, you are bound to benefit.

Energy Management Training Solutions : Whether you have already carried out an Energy Audit and want us to provide implementation support to your Managers and Engineers, or whether you want your Technical Team to conduct an in-house Energy Audit with our hands-on practical in-plant training inputs, you are bound to benefit.

Conservation does not mean Sacrifice

It is not just about switching off lights and fans –when not in use!

It is about using energy intelligently.

Just being little aware of how we consume energy is enough

-No sacrifice is involved, no need to reduce your comfort level, no need to sacrifice safety.

-One can enjoy all amenities and still save enough for the poor to meet their basic needs

While details of the above solutions will be sent as separate attachments and you can go through the same at your convenience, we would sincerely recommend that you call us, at the earliest, for a brief but focused meeting where we can make our case for driving Energy Efficiency in your Organization and later follow it up with a formal site-specific proposal catering to your special requirements.

We trust that you will not hesitate to make this important call since we are all aware of the maxim that,

NO ENERGY CONSERVATION ..... KNOW MONETARY LOSS,

KNOW ENERGY CONSERVATION ..... NO MONETARY LOSS

With best wishes for a bright and energy efficient future !

Sincerely,

N.RAVI SANKAR

Greetings,
You may consider the Rain Water Harvest Project, run by different Energy Consultancies. We had managed a similar program for our employes, at EDS, where they could work along with the consultants , in that project. This went beyond the office environment . It allowed us to offer employee's engagement in CSR activity and even build future leaders beyond their current task lists.
Few techniques came very handy and helped employees, implement them, even at their homes.
Windmill project is little pricey , but can be considered if you have the budget for it . This way you bring in a huge non-monetary benefit to the employee and serve the society.
Wish you all the best !

Dear shraddha Ambre,
You have just touched very hot topic and it is the hot buzz all over the industry/corporate world.
Going Green is saving environment which ever way. One of the way is using Bio-Green products for daily cleaning application. If you consider amount of water used daily and when with the chemical it is going down the drain how much ground water is polluted and if you multiply with each and every premises damage will be huge.
Using chemical for cleaning, will increase VOC indoor, as now a days major of the offices are closed and without ventilation. Under the Green people are getting Neutral chemicals which re after all chemicals and let out chemical fumes and lead to increase of VOC. Just check disadvantage of VOC on net abd you will understand how it is harmful to human beings and to the environment.
Use Bio-Green Products for the safety of the staff and Environment.

Dear shraddha Ambre,
You may like to conduct a Environmental quiz program for your employees.
You may also have a Brain storming program on going green by asking participants to give their ideas & thoughts & provoking discussions.
Debate on some topics of going green is also a good idea.
