Hi,
Why didn't you verify his certificates before appointing him.
He is liable to get paid for the days he has worked (exception only in case, if your appointment terms says that an employee will be fired without pay in case of false certification).

Dear Vinod,
Sorry, I don't agree with you, irrespective of whatever worth he is it is dangerous/wrong precedent to get on with a person who cheat you. This is like the Pilots who got appointed with fake competency certificates unearthed recently. They have been dismissed even though they worked for a few years in Air India, and other airlines. Even in their cases also there were no public reports they performed below par. Fake certificates never pardoned.

Hi Alok,
The compensation here does not mean " Salary" it means compensation in lieu of notice. So in my view there is no escape for paying him in full, till u suspend him pending enquiry.

HI Alok,
Further to my earlier postings (as DS) the matter of what u should be doing with the employee is of your personnel choice. In law he is guilty and should be punished. However, it is upto yr standards and the ideology or yr organisation, what you do. However keeping a clear fraud will need thinking twice and also tight vigil on his actions. think within broad framework and decide in the interest of your organisation, try being neutral and bring objectivity for making final decision. Do what suits best to yr organisation.
Best of luck and regards.

Look, I believe once a person join in a company he is like a new family member. If we find that after ignoring his/her fake certificate the person still qualify for the post just make a penalty not higher then 1/10 of his salary. But if the person was qualified with the help of that fake certificate then its a fraud case no need of any notice.
