:) Dear Accu & Scare_Crow,
I was really happy when I got into Generalist HR Profile .. and now I am dying to get into Training & Dev ..
Generalist profile is not easy either .. the only problem being a specialist is you can never consult anybody .. in Generalist profile, you will be a 'General' solution to all the problems ... Dear Accu, start applying to IT Companies .. they require manpower.
Dear Scare_crow .. its not fair buddy .. Please feedback to my problem .. I really value opinion of citeHR friends .. I will be conducting a Behavioural Training Programme as a test run this weekend, and if its' passes the QC of my VP I will be given a profile in T&D in my organization .. Just wanted to know what would "you" expect in such a training programme, if you have attended such a session earlier ... I got enough material now, and need to fine -tune it !
Do reply ... where has Ajmal & Sunayna gone ? Find them for me please ..

Hey I am not lost, i was just out of loop, by the way I check CiteHR atleast once a day... so was in touch with what is going around...
My project is on final stages and need to finish by this Friday. Am leaving for Ahmedabad on this Saturday. That is a reason why I have not been able to post much on the site.
You can anytime send a mail to me and i will respond to you... As for the topic about the Behavioural Training, I don't have much knowledge of the subject, to give any constructive ideas..

:D Dear Scare_crow,
My VP is sitting on my head .. he's in town. I am feeling like crashed, I just completed a series of recruitment walk-in's .. and now it will be training .. I will be happy though, to be into Training & Development .. that's why working really hard to make the first impression nice ..
Ya .. please do friend ..
I think I am addicted to this site now ..
I can now recall one Exit Interview form that I have seen in the Organization where I completed my HR internship .. The fellow had written the reason for exiting a good organization .. 'Lots of Meetings - Leading nowhere' .. at that point of time I was surprised, now I have got the wisdom .. and understand why that fellow must have left the organization ...

:D Nice to see you back Ajmal ..
Have a nice journey (and Meeting too) ! :D
What about Absconding Cases ? 8) won't there be a penalty ?
I am almost done with the structure .. just wanted to know your viewpoints and perspectives, its perfectly alright ..
Ajmal .. Can we start a new topic ? How to tackle the VP ? (Hey, r u a VP?)
Dear Scare_crow .. it would be really valuable to get just any hint how a professional trainer works .. I have handled informal trainings like Edward DeBono Thinking hats .. meanwhile devise some strategy for absconding cases .. give a target of 100 jokes per day !

Hi Thesysthink
I have been working in different industries and work cultures for 8 years now.. Some of the things that I learnt over the years which keeps me in tune with my boss.
The Boss as Client
This concept, I picked up when I was with GATI. There during one of our training sessions they taught us the concept of external and internal customers. Though this concept is applicable for all internal customers i am highlighting Boss as the topic discussed. I being a marketing guy, i immediately understood the concept of client. You have to give what the Client requires, it is his requirement, you cannot argue with him, all you can to is suggest. It is upto the client to accept / reject your suggestions. Take it this way and you will never again feel disheartened even if your boss rejects some of your proposals/suggestions.
Begin the relationship on the right foot.
The most important of any relations is to have a right start. Find out the KRA of your post from the horses mouth. Don't stick to the employee manual. Talk to your boss of what he thinks is the KRA, what are the best practices according to him [not according to the manual]. This will help you in being in sync with him, and your output will be according to his requirement. This will keep both of you satisfied with your work
Have regular meetings.
Well every boss likes to have an idea about what is happening and what needs to be done. Right number of meetings at right time would keep both of you abreast about what is being done and what needs to be done.
Try to understand your boss
In case you think that the particular work assigned to you is not actually your work, try to think why your boss has given you that work. Try to think like your boss and you will understand most of his actions. This will keep both of you in sync with eachother
Communicate effectively
For some years I worked under a retired Colonel and we had this very strong communication system. With every instruction given by him, he would ask us to repeat what we understand of the instruction and we had to explain in our own words. And in initial days, lots of time it so happened that there was communication gap. Try and see the military communication loop and you will understand what it means. It is one of the best communication method. Specially the reconfirm part
Tell your boss what you need
This again I learnt from Colonel. He used to say to us that while commanding in army, he always felt his job to take care of his man. At the same time he said that he is no God and cannot know what the employees want unless they ask for it. From that day onwards, I simply approach the boss whenever I need anything. [hey only the really important things, not everything]
I know that this is a Humour section but this post is really serious..

:D Dear Ajmal,
Thank you for the reply .. perhaps the area where I am lagging is 'Communiction' ..
In fact from your reply I got many clues to fine tune my games in the training .. especially the 'reconfirmation' part ..
I think we should request CHR to move your Article and answers to appripriate section ..
I was tensed a bit because it would be my VP (who is the boss of my boss), and he himself is a behavioural Trainer .. I will definitely try to follow each step as suggested. As a trainer I feel .. I am perhaps a bit too young ..
