Dear Prasad,
After working for six days, one day off is given, which is generally Sunday. And on Off Day if the employee comes for duty, then he gets another day as Compensatory Off against the Off Day. Here, for your Annual Day ceremony, it is not regarded as you are on duty, as you have come to attend the Annual Day Ceremony; but if your management has told to give that day as Compensatory Off, then it should be allowed to all employee and the employee who was on leave from Saturday to Wednesday, he should be allowed C.Off alongwith other kind of leave.
Thanks

Hi,
As per my view,Saturday can be considered as "Compensatory Off" and Sunday as "Holiday/Week-Off".Then rest Monday-Wednesday as "Leave".
Its a common practice that most of the employees, take a long break by adding leaves (either prefix or suffix) to the week-offs & holidays.
The reason being is Sunday (In few companies/organisations Saturday) is anyway holiday & won't work on that day and its a week-off.
To make it more simple, only the working days of companies/organisations must be considered for leaves/LOP.

Employer can get work upto10days continuesly. But Not more then 10days.
The employer if get work from employee on week off usually Sunday, then employee wil be given compensatery Off (C off) in lieu off Sunday within immediate 4days.(Monday, Tue, wed, Thur).
