Hi Prabhu

Just wanted to give my views on your thoughts. Its very true Work is Woship. But then there is a limit for everything. If you have carefully read the story the little boy is asking for time to have dinner with his dad.

As a responsible employee one has to work hard to get the company to great heights at the same time as a dad you have to give time to your kid. Each one of us have more than one role to play. We need to make sure we balance our life and ensure we do best in all our role.

Kid is not asking the dad to stay home. Kid just wants a little time to spend with his dad. Lets not get confused with person coming home early and person sitting at home forever.

Each one of us should know how to balance our work and family life. Lets put the dad in kid's shoes. If his wife doesnt give him time and if she is busy with her work will he accept that. He will expect her to give time for him at the same time would want her to do good at work.

To conclude I would say each one of us should do justice to the role we play. This is what I feel. I might be wrong.

If someone has anything to say. Please be free.

i agree with you akshatha , this story don't say this to stay at home n forget about your responsibility in office. it only wants to tell that one should not be too busy with his work so that his family esp. suffer. no doubt a person earn for his family but there should be limit n family don't need money only they need your time and sometime your presence.
so do your job with responsibility but do spare some time for the family also.

Hi Friends,
Mr .Prabhu is looking at the story form an entirely different perspective...and surely moral of the story was not "to become reluctant to work" as percieved by Mr parbhu. It just puts question mark on the choices that we make....
The hunger for more money/designation/working for bigger company etc. is driving us way from our loved ones....
It just means hold your ambitions a bit and go slow..so that u may not miss the childhood of your child, love of your spouse, care of your parents.

:D Hi All!

I read this story before and thought about it… my father was a very busy person, apart from his job he was always busy with his Office Association etc. But nevertheless he was a very loving father. It was by nature he was a workaholic. I am a father now, my daughter is 02+ and very demanding…after my office hours I sometimes feel very irritated and couldn't participate with her play… instead I watch TV :? Tell me now am I doing a right thing? I can't remember one day that my father was playing with me & my brother in our childhood. Now he took his retirement (although he's very busy); I am leaving out of my home country and my brother is away from home too. Can my father get his time back? Can we play with our father as a child?

My message for 3types of Fathers,

1.Too busy Fathers: If you live with motion in your office, try to live with emotion at home.

2.Not that Busy Fathers: You can balance your office & home by giving time in both places as required.

3.Less Busy Fathers: You have achieved a lot from work, now achieve more with your family.

And finally for some people like me :) it's not enough to read & write but we should practice what we say

Hi
I agreed that if company grows we will also grow. But at the cost of family & friends i dont agree with that. I am not saying to spend whole day with your family but you can spend little but a good time with ur family. Its not possible on daily basis but we can do it on weekends. Spend saturday sunday with ur family. go for the dinner, movie....etc. Oncein while ur spouse can understand u but ur child cant. Why companies are giving Leaves?? so that u can spend time for urself. Then use the leaves in a proper way and balance ur family & professional life. Your hard work may lead u to the sucess but at the same time taking you away from ur family. Both the things are crucial so just balance in an effective way...... Why we are doing welfare activities in the organisation??? beause we know the importance of the employees in the office. So how can we forget the importance of our family in our life....
