How can the company manage in a country like India where the population is very high and the supply of labor is highly elastic? I don't think that the proposed increase in maternity leave would benefit companies struggling to exist in the market, especially due to competition from foreign companies. If implemented, I doubt that the employability of women will decrease significantly.

Yes, there is a bill to amend the Maternity Benefit Act, but there is no idea if it will be passed and when it will be incorporated into the Act. Until the Act gets amended, the present rules will follow.
