The information tells us about the company standards, systems, discipline, and attitude. It is good for company security, which restricts unauthorized entry.

Our company has thousands of employees all over India. All our top-level staff members wear ties. We have a dress code for middle and lower-level staff, and miniskirts and objectionable dresses are restricted.

I would go with Arundhati. I had the same problem, and now I linked everything with this card. We have an in-house developed ERP system. If anybody would like to get anything from stores (office stationary, personal protective equipment, etc.), they have to show this card to a device where the digital signature is stored. They do not have to sign a goods receipt note. Whenever an employee is assigned a job, this is linked with the job number, attendance, overtime, and everything. This is going to work.

Dear Amber,

Wearing a company ID card is important for the employees. It is the identity that you provide your employees to distinguish them from visitors. You can make certain adjustments such as making employee attendance mandatory when they wear ID cards, which contain the personal information of the employee. You can immediately contact their next of kin in case of an emergency without wasting time searching in the database.

In my organization, I have made it mandatory for employees to wear their ID cards during work hours. If someone is not complying, you can issue a warning and, if necessary, impose fines. However, after circulating the policy a few times, employees will get used to it, as I did in my organization.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification.

I agree with the idea of merging the identity card and attendance card. It has worked out well in our organization.

Now, many types of ID cum Attendance cards are available in the market - most are thin type cards that are easy to carry and serve their purpose well.

Hi guys,

Some of the comments are good and very realistic. I just want to say that at the place where I work, we have been using a time attendance or automated attendance system for the last 9+ years. We all receive our payslips from this system. When we come to work or leave, we punch in our card (proximity). Therefore, even if we are late, it is automatically recorded at the time of punching in, or when we leave early. Additionally, if we do not punch in, we are marked as absent. Our payslips are generated accordingly for all employees, from top to bottom, using one system, and this process must be initiated with an official memo.

The key point is that if you receive a paycheck that is less than what you are supposed to get, it prompts you to take the necessary actions, and everything falls into place. I recommend trying it; it has worked for us for over 9 years.

Once again, we have been using this system for over 9 years.

Hi,

The use of ID cards in an organization shows that it is a modern organization. Employees should be made aware of the importance. If employees are still not complying with the rule, simply deduct some amount from their salary. Everything will fall into place.

This is what one organization did in Hyderabad, and now every member wears an ID card.

Cheers,
Venkat.

Issuance of ID Card is mandatory under The Gujarat Factories Rules para/Form 110. The advantages of an ID card are enumerated below:

1. It gives individual identity.
2. It is useful in case of emergencies, such as accidents.
3. It contains the blood group of the individual holder, which is useful for the accident victim, the person providing assistance, and the general public if they need to extend help.
4. ID cards help regulate discipline in the organization.
5. It gives a feeling of belonging to a particular group.
6. It makes it easier for guests or strangers in your organization to address you appropriately.
7. It includes your contact number and address.
8. Usage of a LAN card for instant visibility of the ID card on the chest or as required.
9. If it is an ID cum Attendance Card, it would make it easier for security and cafeteria staff to allow entry without any hassles.

And many more...
