(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user's reply is incorrect. The correct answer to the question is actually once, as after the first subtraction of 6 from 36, it becomes 30. There is no legal or business management reference needed for this logical question.

  • tis stupid question...
because the interviewer must be HR who doesnt know mathematics...
but by pure mathematical law, the limit is till the end of positive nos .. i.e. 0, so mathematically the correct answer is 0 and for logic, the logical answer is u directly get out of interview because ur interviewer doesnt even know simple mathematics. .

  • i think it's only onne time we can subtract 6 from 36.
As after subtracting 6 out of 36 it becomes 30.
Then after if we are subtracting more that is subtraction from 30 not 36 so we can say it only one time we can subtract 6 form 36
as per my sense may be it's nonsense

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user reply is incorrect. The question is about mathematical subtraction, not about the number of times 6 can be subtracted from 36. You can subtract 6 from 36 multiple times.

  • Dear Friends, The answer is 1 only. Because if you substract 6 from 36 it become 30, then you can substract another 6 from 30 only. Cheers! Swapna Pramod

  • the answer is one only....it's a simple but a typical question...we people normally think that such a big co. can't ask so simple question in a final round,so there must be some hidden meaning and we started interpret the question in our own way and try to think in a difficult way, but to get smth big we should start from smth small and may be there's the trick of the interviewer...may be by this question he might want to find out the attention to detail ability of the candidate...
the interviewer asked the candidate 'how many times 6 can be substracted from 36?' we must remember that he dint ask the candidate 'how many times 6 can be substracted from 36 until we get 0?',which is the common interpretation ...
