Dear Friends,

My suggestion..
1. Pls don't go for any vending machine( Powerdess base), which may affect the employees health in longer run ( Not Hygenic or not easy to maintain)
2. You may go for any vending machine which is used without powders.
3. No subsitute for natural- making small pantry with speficity timings is more economical and beneficial to both employee as well as employers.
The same office boy can be used for courier distribution, document movements, visitor arrangement, Sr. Executives requirements etc.

Note..

Pls don't comment other collegues request or help. HR is the noble profession and we have opportunity to help the employees. Why employees are asking the solution from us, They know that " we are the only department concerned about their welfare in the organisation" and we only can help them.

Out view should be changed towards helping our employees...

a. By giving best quality service employees health can be maintained and improved.. ... No absenteism,..... No health issues......... No exits..
B. If small issues addressed in time, there will not be any major issues in latter stage>
c. If some employees are complaining Tea/ Coffee is not good.. If we analyse the most of their complaints may be interlinked to other. They are using this way is " Ventilation for their feelings" . Or their need may be specific ( they may not like powder based coffee etc).

D. Each and every problem is opportunity..

we need to motivate others and should lead by examples. Let us have postive view on the each and every problems..

Not to blame our friends, those who need help from this forum

Friends,
First of all I dont agree to Mr. Ravi. No post is foolish or irrelevant. If you look at current scenario people are sticking to their jobs just because of current economic downturn. Such minor things really impact employee satisfaction. I dont feel you should limit the number of times tea served. I believe its the responsibility of every organization to server the basic needs of employees. By restricting the no. of times tea served, will create a negative image of cost optimization initiative of the organization. I feel you should prepare a list of some of such tiny issues and then call for a townhall kind of employee speak meet and take their suggestion. this will give them a sense that their opinion does matter and even if you take any harsh step for such small issue it will be a joint deicisiion of the managemnt as well as the employee.

Friends,

I agree with Ritu. If we are restricting this type of activities in our organization then it will definitely affect employee's satisfaction level. We can create a control mechanism through vendor machine itself i.e. we can fix the quantity of milk, beans, etc and for cost saving we can introduce self-service instead of deputing a office boy and if we are using paper cups then pls avoid that as well.
Thanks,
Anoop

Dear all
From my pont view is , if it is a big organization better to go instal the machine/outsource, (not with milk powder) and also employees will choose there taste, b,coz if office boy supply the tea/coffe its not possible to supply intime.
if its small organization there is no issue, office boy will do all these things wat ever metion by the V Jagan

Suggestions:
1. There are tea / coffee suppliers from outside who come during fixed time and serve it in office permises. You may take their help.
2. Keep a vending machine.
I am not too sure as to what type of misuse your people are in to.
If it is that they take home sugar or coffee/tea powder, both the options will help.
If the misuse is about the increased number of coffee/tea, you may use a token system. Distribute coupons at the rate of two coupons a day for the respective working days in the month begining itself. This needs a person to monitor. But watch out....the morale will also be affected. That will become your worry.

Dear K Ravi It seems you are not a HR person otherwise you would have understood the importance of a cup of tea.
