You can easily prepare HR report in Word document and paste excel shhets of MIS information in it. Also affix a certain doc. format that should be used uniformily each month.You can include given topics in the HR monthly report:

- Training: Training programs that were conducted in the particular month. Name of the training, no. and group involved, Training costs if any, etc

- Detail of any special event like All Employee Meeting, Organizational celebration
- Attrition Report: no. of employees left designation/group/gender/ department wise

well I can tell u about the place i did my internship from. We had a system of Monthly Reports, where in we used to tell corporate about the number of new joinees, no. of people who have left the organization, expenditure under various heads, events and meetings held in that month, etc,
